How much does bespoke furniture cost in the UK?

Bespoke furniture is priced from three things: material, labour and finish.

Material

Solid American black walnut carries the highest raw cost of the timbers we use, because boards are hand-selected for grain continuity across a whole room. Oak and ash sit lower. For terrace work, marine-grade aluminium with FSC teak and UV-stable rope costs more than powder-coated steel, but it is the only combination we will guarantee outdoors.

Labour

A mortise-and-tenon walnut sideboard takes a joiner several days. An upholstered sofa drawn to your seat depth needs a frame, a sprung base, feather-wrapped cushions and a fitted, removable cover. Prototyping a seat mock-up adds time but removes the most expensive risk in the project.

Finish

Hand-rubbed hardwax oil, leather, stone tops and brass detailing all move the number. Specify these at drawing stage so the quotation is itemised, not estimated.

A realistic brief

Send a floor plan, say how the room is used, and note anything fixed: radiator positions, door widths, sun path on a terrace. We return a preliminary assessment before any site visit.
