Outdoor furniture that survives a UK winter

Most outdoor furniture fails at the joint, the foam or the fabric — rarely at the frame.

Frames

Powder-coated marine-grade aluminium does not rust and stays light enough to move. FSC teak greys gracefully and can be left untreated.

Seats

Quick-dry reticulated foam lets water pass straight through. Pair it with solution-dyed acrylic covers, which hold colour under UV far longer than printed fabrics.

Drainage and placement

Seats should drain, and feet should lift the frame clear of standing water. On roof terraces, check wind exposure before specifying a parasol.

Winter

Covers help, but ventilation matters more than waterproofing — trapped moisture is what damages cushions. We size covers with vents for this reason.
