Balcony furniture for UK new-build apartments

Modern UK apartment balconies come with a set of rules that most retail furniture ignores: a loading limit, a lease clause about what may be fixed to the structure, and often a requirement that nothing is visible above the balustrade.

Check the depth before anything else

A 1600mm-deep balcony will not take a standard dining set with pulled-out chairs. A bistro table at 700mm with two slim chairs, or a bench against the wall with a narrow table, will work in the same space.

Nothing that can become airborne

At height, wind matters more than rain. We build for weight at the base — heavier feet, lower centres of gravity — and avoid lightweight parasols and loose trays entirely.

Free-standing, never fixed

Most leases prohibit fixing into the slab or balustrade. Our balcony pieces are self-supporting and can be lifted out for maintenance access.

Drainage and the neighbour below

Balcony floors drain to an outlet or over the edge. Solid-based storage boxes dam that flow; we build boxes on feet with a clear 20mm underneath.

Storage doubles as seating

A ventilated cushion box at 450mm high, built to your exact balcony width, is the single most useful piece we make for apartments.
