Fire-carbonised solid wood, made to order or standard.

Ash, pine, oak, elm and walnut finished by open-flame and smoke carbonisation, hand sanded and oiled. Built for bars, cafés, tea rooms, restaurants and guesthouses — and equally at home in a living room.

Why carbonised wood

The surface is finished by fire, not by stain.

Depth of colour without pigment

Flame and smoke darken the timber through the surface itself, so the black is the wood — it cannot chip off the way a sprayed lacquer can.

Grain you can read and feel

Soft summer growth burns back faster than the hard grain, so hand sanding leaves a raised, tactile figure that changes with the light.

A more settled surface

Carbonising drives moisture out of the outer layer before finishing, which helps the piece sit calmly in humid Hong Kong summers and dry UK winters alike.

Ages honestly

Finished in imported hardwax oil, scuffs can be re-oiled in place rather than resprayed, and the tone deepens rather than fades.
